As discussed in Session V, we observed that visitors were 'slowed down' at Berksun's show by the big inviting table. Hence, this proposal focuses on additional objets/spaces to facilitate some rest.

A tiny 'in between' space at MaMA's showroom that contains some books, journals, research for visitors to read, to linger, to slow down. Additionally, it provides a space for the host to gain more time to enter into dialogue with the visitor/ inform about MaMA's mission/ ask for donations and opinion on the show.

The space can be flexible - adjustable position for each show allowing maximum flexibility for the program makers.

Summary of Session VI
Hosting folder/ guide - what is needed?
What is missing?

- The guide could include some notes taken directly from discussions between programme makers and hosts. It would be beneficial to have such discussions because the notes taken during such sessions can be put into the guide itself. So along with the exhibition texts and artwork descriptions, we would have personal feedback from the programme makers themselves.

- The guide should be prepared before/in the beginning of the exhibition, for the host to get a better familiarity with the works and technical set up. This could also be done in the first week, through the help of all the hosts. I think it’s important to give the host a clear view of the show for them to feel comfortable with explaining the show to visitors.

- It’s also important that the host guide contains info about the space, maybe it would be possible to include a floor plan of the showroom with important check points like where the electricity boards are in case of emergencies. We could design it in a readable and approachable way (this could also be implemented into the hosting notebook/ toolkit idea?).

- What should be implemented: having an accessible note in the host desk showing all emergency numbers. Sometimes it is a bit hard to access the iPad then the google drive to obtain an emergency number, so having something easy at hand at the host desk would be the ideal solution.
